No Rest for the Delinquent

Whew.  It’s been a busy few months, and it’s only just begun for the Delinquents.  Here’s what’s been keeping us busy:

PLAYWRIGHTS IN RESIDENCE

Mily Mumford, actor Tara Pratt and Sebastian Kroon. Deep in thought.

Our Playwrights in Residence are hard at work following the first workshops of their new scripts.  Our first workshop was inspiring, challenging and madly entertaining.  We talked Star Trek, mental health, poison, peanut butter, blood, and many other topics essential to the dramaturgy process.  We are sure excited to see what the next drafts have in store for us.  Up next: a four-day retreat in Vancouver Island for an intensive period of workshops and rewrites.  We’re packing lots of snacks.

OUR TIME

Studio A at Green Thumb. The ‘A’ might stand for ‘Awkward Photo’. We’re not sure.

Laura and Christine are excited to head back into the rehearsal hall with Our Time, a solo TYA show written and performed by Christine.  Our Time joins a girl on her graduation day as she wakes up and runs to her convocation ceremony.  Through vivid memories, she shares the journey of what has led her to this special day – and why everything will change when she crosses that stage.  We are excited that Green Thumb Theatre is graciously supporting our rehearsals – we are LOVING their beautiful new facilities! We’ll be building a brand new production with scenic and video design by Lauchlin Johnston and sound design by Mishelle Cuttler, and will be visiting a few GVRD high schools to test-drive it.

AND MORE…

We have a few exciting announcements coming up, including the cast and dates for the public readings of our Playwrights In Residence plays.  Between now and then?  We’ll be drinking lots of coffee.
